I'm back

Hi Guys

Yes, I am back safe and sound in Spain!! UK was alright but glad to be back. My disguise obviously worked as nobody said "Did you  go to the Tech school?" My, you have all been busy and it will take me some time to catch up with all these new threads. New members as well. Wecome aboard John Stickland. I don't know if anybody has replied to Physics teacher question but I am sure he is referring to 'Dickie' Harber, a man that could smoke a cigarette, cigar and pipe all at the same time!!

The sun is cracking flags here, sorry a phrase I picked up in Wakefield.

Will talk later as I now have to go and restock fridge and pay a visit to the bodega!!

Cheers

Steve

Welcome back Steve, glad you had a good trip, nice of you to leave some sunshine here when you left, although I thought it was only frost that cracked flags in Wakefield.

Hi Steve, Stu and all.
Hey, its only the frost that cracks flags in Wakefield cos the rain has got in to 'em first . Glad you had a good hols though, Steve.
Thanks for the info, yes, you are right it was 'Dickie' Harber, at long last someone has put me out of my misery! As you say a great guy, I can't think why I could not remember his name, brain fade again!
Sorry I've been a bit quiet, but did not get in from work until ten pm yesterday, as I started at six am was completely knackered. Problem is, we are only a small outfit, but our services are still in demand, MD and myself are both the same age but we have no youngsters to take on the reins, you know how 'tis, engineering is a dirty word these days.
Short and sweet I'm afraid, have to finish off club newsletter for the end of the week, so must go.

                                                         Bi for now.

Ze Eagle haz landed .. well not really Eagle more "Dan Dare" .. he who dares and all that .. o.k. now ? totally confused ? .. I put it down to the 40th anniversary of the moon landing sun stroke and swine flu .. I don`t know which came first .. but I am glad we had some Bacardi left when we got home ..

I`ll start again .. this time with the keyboard illuminated, so I can sort of see a bit of what I am trying to type .. The swine flu epidemic started with two tourists in Weymouth, and, as you may recall from my last post before I went I was to be encamped a few miles to the west of Weymouth near Bridport .. did this massive molecular scaled distance stop the flu virus invading my air space? .. no chance, I went down with it first, then Carole .. (she had the weaker female variety of course) .. and as a result suffered less trauma than me.

I thought I was getting over it so on day four I ventured outside with my hat sunglasses and umberella.. was I safe? .. no, like hell I was .. 32 minutes of 25deg celcius radiation exposure resulted in sun stroke .. swollen lips .. lumps in my throat .. bulges in my cheeks (mouth cheeks that is, really your minds .. what ever next?) .. result .. nice golden tan on face and arms .. shame about the torso .. well, there is always next year I suppose to pursue the body beautiful at Bridport. ( I just hope that I might have chance to catch hold of her next time)

My attempt at docking with the Van at another favoured camping spot was thwarted by the greed of the many, those that attempted to save much money by staying at home .. taking up camping .. result? .. a 40% booking increase on u.k. campsites this year .. what awaits the causal passer by? .. "Shove off mate we`re fully booked!" .. let this be a lesson to the tourer for 2009 .. book ahead .. book ahead (or buy a gun)

I see that the weather has encouraged an unusual proportion of the (normally sane?) music orientated / loving travelling British public to forsake all common sense and simutaneously exit their appropriate homesteads in great swathes .. nice word swathes .. anyway swathes it was .. we both chuckled on the way home at the various antics taking place on the road side that we witnessed between Pylle on the A37 and Timsbury turn off at Hallatrow on aforementioned A37 road .. it quickly drifted into becoming a non stop .. party atmosphere, one of the longest and spread out linear car parks in England, apart from the M25 that is ..

I did feel so sorry for those umfortunates caught up in all this .. this ? .. the trek to Glastonbury that is / was .. 50.000+ heaving bikini clad breasts .. and that was just the blokes !! .. I do of course exaggerate a little bit here .. it is after all a hot steamy night .. and the imagination runs riot after a large dose of Bacardi and Lime .. It will all look very different in the cold light of day .. but at least it has caught your attention...Ha Ha

Good to see all of you still engaged in verbosity unlimited , and long may it continue .. catch u soon
