Hi all

I have not given you a weather update for a while. I see that you are enjoying an Indian Summer in the UK complete with monsoons.

Today here it has been hot and sunny with a temperature of 41.6C. We are off to the beach tonight for a BBQ and a few vinos.

If there are ant weather anoraks amognst you like me have a look at Metcheck.com    It is a very good forecasting site.

Cannot really contibute on the transport debate apart from buses that never turned up and my formative trainspotting days with Gerald White!!!

Cheers

Steve

Indian Summer Steve, for the past few days it's either been p*^^*$% down with rain or blowing a gale, the sea looks more like the inside of a washing machine, the thought of going down the beach for a BBQ is laughable, at least the stock of cheap booze purchased when the local CO-OP closed down last week is keeping a rosy glow on my cheeks even if the horizon's looking a bit blurred. Still we have got the Willard Grant Conspiracy to look forward to next week, even if it means going to Penzance, as well as a new job that should be worth about £20K a year, so who needs good weather.

PS I just took a look at that Metcheck site, what's the first thing that flashes up for GB - SEVERE WEATHER WARNING !!!!!!!!!!!
Good for a laugh eh?

Hi Guys,
I told you the MET office had it right for me, didn`t I?..and the next four days is ....very very, sunny ..I`m off again I hope ..
Not a spot of rain all weekend, mind you I had 22 ducks, yes ducks on my pitch on thurday night. I was parked near the lake edge at Winchcombe C&C.C. site. Tehy soon discovered the delights of Mr. Tescos Cornflakes, (as opposed to bread) .. well, we had bread, but only the freshbaked variety, and I certainly wasn`t going to share that with them.

Did I mention that male ducks have a habit of "chuckling" to themselves? .. well, it sounds like a laugh a very loud laugh.
I, of course did not find it the slightlest bit amusing to be woken at 5.30 (ish). Especially when it was my turn to have them on my side of the lake. Still, kept the wife amused ..be grateful, be very gratefull .....

Rich, where`s the music then? (line input - blue stereo 3.5mm jack socket on back of PC)  - sound recorder software on PC might do it ..if not, download a free sound editor to convert to MP3 .. if you really get stuck I have a cassette player attached to my PC..we can do it here at my place)

Yeah, no excuses Rich, I can input CD, MP3, Vinyl and tape onto my PC, and if necessary clean vinyl of scratches etc. and tapes of hiss. So get busy and let's have a listen, can't be any worse that some of the stuff that people on MySpace want me to listen to.

Hello,
Music or no music ..I`m off ...Sennen Cove and all things Atlantic are calling, I`ll be seeing you guys when I get browner, much browner ..I will of course write if I get near a suitable portal.

Thanks once again for all the updates on our County of Somerset(shire) and its plentiful modes of transport. The pencil is sharpened up already. I`ve worn myself dizzy flicking between ancient ordnance survey maps and Google earth images in attempts to plot and locate the various atructures on the Somerset Coal Canal.

So, it`s hello from me & good bye from her indoors, all in one message .. how`s that for economy then?...T.T.F.N.
