Just a thought guys, while I'm sat here mellowing gently under the effects of a decent Cote du Rhone, wouldn't it be a good idea for all members to fill in a profile as soon as poss. after registering, after all there could be quite a few Fred, Bert & Arfur's out the (not to mention Tom & Dick), so rather than just a christisn name a surname as well? And how about adding years attended and the forms you were in as well.
Have a good weekend Stu

Here Here!.. Well 1959 was an excellent vintage year, I joned an extra form created just for this years extra intake .... 1Q...or was it IQ 0?.. Then onto the "P" stream, "2P or not to Pee". This was of course f9ollowed in triplicate with 3P and finally 4, where upon ti was unilaterally decided by Bill Hayman that I should hand back my membership card and leave in spring 1963. There ..how`s that? .. Bill

In case anyone's wondering, all the deleted post's ere the same, Bill's computer has got a stammer!
Nice one Bill, although I knew which years & forms you were in, we started off as Q's then were upgraded to P's in the 2nd. year, although upgrade's not quite right as Q disappeared. You don't suppose that all the unidentified bods all work for MI6 or something like that do you?

Well 1961 was my first year in form 1P, followed by 2P and 3P. Then as a few of us were more inclined to woodwork and metalwork etc Bill Hayman created the T stream. What he meant was that we were a bloody nuisance to the more academic members and would be better off kept apart !! So it was then 4T and 5T and on yer bike in 1966.

So you never got to 4p Rich

At least we never dropped as low as "T" eh. boys, 'course you know what T means don't you Rich, T = Trouble.
I have that problem with Internet Express occasionally Bill, it's a real sod when you find you've ordered four or five of the same item, then spend the next half hour on the phone cancelling the orders and arranging a refund on the credit card, in the end it would have been quicker and cheaper to go down the shop, not that there's much of anything available round here 'cept cream teas.

Hi Rich, it`s my old P.C. I`m afraid, it has Internet Explorer Version 5 .. really old (like me) .. has java script errors by the bucket full .. so now I have ditched it for Internet access and am now using my newer 3ghz whizz bang machine .. just migrated all over today .. so this post should be one only this time .. shall we see? TEST .. Bill

P.S. Hope you are o.k. and good piccy of the old Badge .

Hi All. All seems to be OK now Bill, glad you liked the badge. It has seen better days after 5 years of having ink and dinner dropped on it and then 40 odd years in a drawer but I can't part with it.

No Tony, no 4P for me or anyone else. They dropped the P stream and just had X, Y and T for my last two years in '65 and '66. Yes Stu, you are right it did stand for trouble. To my shame apart from Rugby and Music I, like some of the others wasted time and couldn't wait to get out.Still I'm too old now to have regrets, I've a lot to be thankful for, haven't we all?

Rich

PS. Come on then all old boys, let's have some memories, stories or just waffle. We'd love to hear from you.

Hi Stu

I have been looking at our website and found I cannot open any photographs. What am I doing wrong? By the way I was at Tech from 1959-64 but cannot remember what classes!!! I do have an old school report somewhere and I am trying to find it. I will put it on wbsite if I find it. I am so impressed by the memory that you all have and really hoping we can swell the membership.

SATCHELS ... or bags of a third kind.

I can remember Steve Coffins CND back pack cloth satchel with S & C letters in the segments of the CND symbol.

Stuarts Stickler had S.S. on his sort of Germanic style

Tosh Moroney had "SACHMO" on his , I thought it was `cos he liked Louis Armstrong, but really I suppose it meant Sachel For Moroney

Blank on the resat at at moment  Bill

Satchells didn't last too long did they Bill, soon became ex army rucksacks from Tommy Best's, I do remember Rich Davis having Bix Beiderbeck and King Orry emblazoned on his, obxiously a jazz freak.

Crumbs Stu, I forgot all about Tommy Best and the ex army haversacks ! They kept your books lovely and flat didn't they ? Not much !! I drew a big tank on mine with my school nickname inderneath. I too have some school reports in the loft Steve. I don't know whether I have the nerve to display them for all to see what a duffer I was on here. After all I'm trying to create the illusion that I is quite edukated innit !!!!! I can also remember in around '64 some of the guys in the 5th and 6th forms started wearing Tan or Fawn trousers instead of the regulation grey and...getting away with it !! What odd things stick in your mind.

Hi All

Yes my good friend Rich Davis was a big jazz fan with Fats Waller and Jelly Roll Morton amongst his favourites. His big interest in jazz was probably down to an older brother who played in a jazz band. Anybody know what happened to Rich, for some reason I thought he joined Clarks as  management trainee? Am I correct that all the memories that were recorded on the old website are lost? Thanks for the compliments about the photo, obviously didn't notice the loose fitting tee shirt!!

I think you'll probably find most of the stuff on the multiply blog page Steve, I just had a quick look and there's a dozen pages or so on there. Have a look at my Live page there's a pic of Rich Davis there aged about 7.
