Warnings of Gales

No not today's weather forecast, just this weeks live music review. Hasn't it been a cracking couple of days, no doubt Tony will be soaking it up at a less the "Blue" Anchor, I'll get back to the nostalgia pub crawl later but for now ----------. Last night took a trip just down the road to the Coach and Horses in Appledore, sorry Steve pub with live music, only once a week though, and this week was a gig by one of North Devons premier singer songwriters Chris Millington, also known as the Wild Boy from Exmoor, writes all his on stuff with a very local influence, folk based, very strong voice, he'd been playing for best part fo three hours when we left at midnight, I had to be up early for work this morning, but I strongly recommend you check him out on MySpace music, just tpye in the name and make your selection. I know it was a late finish 'cos he slept in his van in the car park all night , finally staggered out at about 11.30 this morning. Next week Chris Farlowe, remember him, "Out of Time" & "Handbags and Gladrags", weekend after the LLAMA festival.

Rock on, Stu

PS "Warnings of Gales" is Chris Millington's latest album

Hi Stu,
I wish it was the weather warning for this week .. could have done with less while I was away on southern shores .. I don`t seem to have the time to study the current musical scene .. I guess I find some of it a bit out of my "comfort zone" .. I do stumble acroos some good modern music (with a bit of originality and creativity) .. for the main I don`t do pubs alot .. but last weekend we were in Seend (Melksham in Wiltshire for our overseas cousins) ..popped into the canal berthed "Barge" and enjoyed some original cooking .. and some very delightful (over grown up top) ladies and girls .. didn`t need an appetiser that night ! .. ah well, those were the days eh? .. no music there .. sorry to dissapoint .. out in the garden today .. sun is boiling .. nearly as hot as Espana ..in winter.
